Shop Floor help.
How to get the FabIS Shop Floor app connected on your iPhone or iPad, what to do when something does not work, and how to reach us.
Getting connected.
Three steps.
Join the shop’s Wi-Fi
Shop Floor talks to your shop’s own PowerFab server over the shop’s network, so your phone or tablet needs to be on the same Wi-Fi as the PowerFab computer. A guest network or mobile data cannot reach it.
Type the server address, once
The first time you open Shop Floor it asks for your PowerFab server’s name or address. Your office can tell you what it is. You type it once; the app remembers it.
Sign in with PowerFab
Sign in with the PowerFab username and password you already use. Your password goes only to your shop’s PowerFab server; FabIS never sees it. Every action is recorded under your own name.
Try the demo shop.
You do not need a shop connection to look around. Open the app and tap Try the demo shop: it runs an invented shop built into the app, with made-up jobs and pieces. Nothing you do in it leaves your device.
When something does not work.
“Your shop’s PowerFab server isn’t answering”
Check that the address is right and that you are on the same Wi-Fi as the PowerFab computer. If you are, tell your office: PowerFab’s remote server must be running, and the PowerFab computer must allow the port the message names.
“Your shop isn’t set up for Shop Floor yet”
You signed in to PowerFab, but FabIS does not know your shop yet. There is nothing to fix on the phone. Ask your office to open the FabIS Hub: it tells FabIS who works at your shop, and then Shop Floor works.
My sign-in is not accepted
Use the same username and password you use for Tekla PowerFab. If they are right and it still says no, ask your PowerFab administrator to turn on Allow Remote Login for your user. FabIS does not see your PowerFab password and cannot reset it.
“Your shop’s PowerFab server turned this sign-in away”
Someone at your office needs to sign in to PowerFab’s Remote Monitor with a Trimble ID. Tell your office.
The Wi-Fi dropped while I was working
The app keeps what you recorded on the phone and sends it when the connection comes back. Stay signed in and keep the app installed until it has gone through.
